Birthday Day Out: Wildflour, CBTL 26th St., Shopping

Finally, Set and I were able to meet up last Monday for her birthday. We've been trying to set up a date for weeks but things kept popping up and we had to keep postponing. We decided to meet up in the Fort and try out something new. Our original plan was to have late lunch at Sunshine Kitchen but we didn't do research on their store hours and found it closed. So, we went across the street and ate at Wildflour instead.

Kitchen Diaries: Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

Most of the time I have to plan the stuff I cook. Our kitchen isn't always well-stocked so I usually need to run to the supermarket for ingredients for the recipes I plan on making. But since I try to make muffins and cupcakes regularly I'm always stocked with the basics like flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, butter, eggs, and milk.

YUMMY Eats 2013 - A Food and Cooking Fair

I just found out about this the other day and I'd definitely go if I didn't already have plans that day. I'm sharing this for others who might be interested.

YUMMY Eats is YUMMY Magazine's annual food and cooking fair. Now on its third year, it will feature upcoming food establishments especially picked by YUMMY Magazine. The event will allow you to sample food from 50 concessionaires. Other activities during the fair include cooking demos, cook-offs, raffle draws, and other food-related activities.

The event will be on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the NBC Tent in Bonifiacio Global City, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. That's a long time to enjoy all that food!

Admission fee for this yummy event is PhP200.00. If you have a copy of YUMMY Magazine's May 2013 issue you get a PhP50.00 discount on the ticket fee (you pay only PhP150.00, yay!). You can reserve and pay for your admission through their website (http://www.yummy.ph/yummyeats/). I'm not sure if tickets will be available at the entrance of the event itself so to be sure it's best if you buy them online beforehand.

Back to Craft: Washi and Mod Podge

One of my goals before Jex came home from Australia was to clean and organize the study. Before project "study cleanup" (lame name, I know. I just came up with it.) only around 30-40% of the room was usable, the rest was a dump with stuff that built up over the years. I am proud to say that I was able to complete project "study cleanup" and now 90% of the room is usable. I do not have permission to touch the other areas so I'm leaving them as is.

Kitchen Diaries: Wicked Oreos & Nutella Milkshake

This has been the hottest summer in the Philippines so far, I think. It feels like we're being punished with humidity. To help us survive the summer heat I made a batch of wicked Oreos for my family and a Nutella milkshake for me!
