Twenty Seven

So, I turned twenty seven last Wednesday. Since I'm away from my family and friends it was pretty non-eventful. Lots of Facebook greetings, a couple of Twitter messages, the usual social media stuff. I didn't feel like going out to celebrate either since it was the middle of the week. So we stayed home. Oh, and baked myself a birthday cake and a pizza for my birthday dinner!
One of my to-do items for our trip is to bake a cake for my birthday, so I did! I made a red velvet cake using the velvet recipe I've been using to make mini cupcakes at home. It was the first time I ever made a cake and I encountered so many issues. The cake didn't turn out perfect but still tasted damn good. I'm so proud! Hahaha!
First time cake froster. Pardon the mess.
No finesse whatsoever. I just slapped on that cream cheese frosting.
I also baked a pizza for dinner, which I had problems with as well. I bought a ready-made pizza crust from the supermarket and topped it with some sliced pork sausages, mushrooms, bell peppers, and lots of cheese. Cheese saves the day!
We enjoyed the pizza and watched Gamer during dinner. I like the concept of the movie. And Gerard Butler was there so automatic win for me. We've been catching up on missed movies and series episodes and still have a lot more to go.
Jex insisted that I have a photo with my birthday cake so here it is. We were about to go to bed but he was so kulit about it so I obliged.

Oh, and we just finished the cake earlier today. Time to bake some new of goodies!
