Mood Music

I'm a music person. I won't say that I can't live without music, because I'm pretty sure I can, but I don't think it would be a pleasant life.

During my morning and evening commute to and from work I usually just set my mp3 player to shuffle all songs. I do this when I'm too lazy to think of what I specifically want to listen to (which is most of the time). Also, it's so I get to listen to the rest of the songs on my player, which I don't get to listen to a lot or have forgotten about.

There are times when I just select certain albums and listen to them over and over. Some of my loop albums include:
  • Hey Monday's "Hold On Tight"
  • Owl City's "Ocean Eyes"
  • Incubus' "S.C.I.E.N.C.E."
  • Incubus' "Make Yourself"
  • Sara Bareilles' "Little Voice"
  • 30 Seconds to Mars' "This Is War"
Sometimes I listen to just one song over and over. Yes, that's right, I listen to one song on loop for hours like an addict. There are times it's because of a certain mood I'm in, like when I'm stressed over work. Most of the time, though, it's just random songs.

My stressed-over-work loop song

"Closer to the Edge" by 30 Seconds to Mars

I love this song. Watching the music video really completes the feeling of the song. I'm just hoping to experience the same feeling when they, hopefully, perform this song during their concert here in Manila this July.

My morning alarm/wake up loop song

"Friday" by Glee Cast

This controversial song, originally sung by Rebecca Black, sounds so awesome after Glee released a cover of it on the "Prom Queen" episode. Don't get me wrong, the lyrics are still crap, but the Glee Cast rendition makes it enjoyable to listen to.

Senti/emo loop song # 1

"For Good" by Glee Cast

I like Glee, can't you tell? I think this was the best song they sang in the last episode of season 2. Last Friday, for some reason, I had this on loop while working. I listened to the original Broadway version by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, just to compare. Though, the original version is just amazing, for some reason I like the Glee Cast version better. I especially like the key change right before the final chorus.

Senti/emo loop song # 2

"Gravity" by Sara Bareilles

I love Sara Bareilles and I am envious of her voice. I loved this song even more when I saw the official music video. So clever!

Random loop song # 1

"If We Ever Meet Again" by Timbaland feat. Katy Perry

This collaboration between Timbaland and Katy Perry is just so catchy. There was one day that I listened to just this song - during my commute, during my jog, while working - it was weird.

Random loop song # 2

"Falling In" by Lifehouse

I didn't know Lifehouse released a new song until I heard this on the radio. I love the lyrics and how the song is romantic but not cheesy, unlike "You and Me" (I just think "You and Me" is too cheesy, but I don't hate it)

Those are just some of my mood and loops songs. I could name a couple more, but I can't remember them right now, haha. What about you, what songs do you like putting on loop?
