Feeding My Mind

When I was a kid my parents encouraged me and my siblings to read a lot. I read a bunch of kids' books back then including, but not limited to, Sweet Valley Kids, Nancy Drew Notebooks, Goosebumps, and Archie comics. Yeah, yeah, no actual literature, I know. They were easy and enjoyable reading material, so at least I got into reading.

In school I don't think you could ever escape reading. You'd eventually need to read your text books or a novel for your English class. Reading assignments for English class introduced and taught me about well-written books. Some of the books I enjoyed reading for class were "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Le Morte d'Arthur". I never got to fully read both books, by the way. Back then they were just school requirements that I just had to finish so I didn't get to enjoy reading them as much I think I should have. So, yeah, I think I should jot them down as books to read this year.

Wake Up, Little Susie

I always say that I am not a morning person simply because I have trouble waking up early. Even if I get more than 6 hours of sleep prior to having to wake up early, I can still snooze through my alarms. And when I say early, I mean any time before 12 noon. Yep...yeah, I know.

Sleep is just so divine. I love the feeling of the cool sheets and pillows of my bed. I love just laying there while the world keeps turning, not caring if I get up or not. I just love the laziness of it all. And, yes, I am lazy.

Rule # 1: Cardio

A herd of buffaloes only moves as fast as the slowest buffalo in the herd. Naturally, the slowest buffaloes can easily be singled out, making them easy targets for hunters. Elimination of the slowest buffaloes benefits the herd by improving its general speed. Survival of the fittest. This concept is called the Buffalo Theory.

In the event of a zombie apocalypse I think I will be one of the people who'll turn or die first. I will obviously not be one of the fastest and will definitely not be able to endure running as long as others will. This weakness requires me to improve my defenses; definitely not hand-to-hand combat; probably the use of a katana, axe or a lightsaber would be more effective; or laser cutters ala-Dead Space.

A7X Live in Manila

Omga, I never imagined this would really happen but Avenged Sevenfold is going to have a concert in Manila! In freaking Manila! I AM FREAKING OUT!

Jex and I have been fans ever since we discovered their song Bat Country from an AMV we watched on YouTube. Having their songs on Rock Band 2 didn't help either. We just became more addicted to their music. Jex and I can only play drums & guitar, respectively, of Afterlife on "hard", and not without collapsing from nervousness after finishing the song.

We promised before that on the very slim chance that they'd ever hold a concert in Manila we'd definitely watch. And now that it has come true I might not even be able to watch it with Jex! He'll be coming home to Manila the week after the concert, so I'm still trying to convince him to change his travel dates. Hehe.

In any case, I REALLY WANT TO WATCH THIS.

The Amazing Spider-Man

I was disappointed when I first heard that they were making another Spider-Man movie, but without Tobey Maguire. I thought they were making another sequel, but it turns out the new Spider-Man movie is actually a reboot.

First of all, I've never read the Spider-Man comics, so I have no idea if the first 3 movies were good or not in terms of comic book adaptation. But I did enjoy watching them (I didn't like the 3rd one so much, though), but they were pretty campy and I really like Tobey Maguire in them. I've read some comments online that the reboot should be more faithful to the comics, and will be a bit darker and serious, ala-Dark Knight.

The new movie stars Andrew Garfield, who I only know from "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus", as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. Yay, for Emma Stone! I would have watched the movie just because she's in it, but now that I've seen trailers I am definitely watching because I'm intrigued.

Whoo! Web shooters! Can't wait!
