DIY: Graduation Card

My sister-in-law just graduated from high school and as a graduation gift Jex and I gave her some moolah. I wanted the gift to be a little more special so I decided to make a card to go along with it.

Since I am a crammer by nature I only made the card an hour before I left for my sister-in-law's graduation dinner. I researched for some inspiration and found this DIY string-tie envelope pattern and used it for as the money envelope. I used my arsenal of craft materials and leftover paper from making our wedding invitations.
Front of the card
I used the star stamp I made during the rubber-cut crafternoon and some strips of washi tape to border her name, which I wrote in not very good lettering.
Gold doily washi
I don't want to show the part of the card where I wrote a message because my handwriting is horrendous. I really need to attend The Fozzy Book's calligraphy workshop. Instead, I'll show you how the gold doily washi tape I got from Hey Kessy looks so nice as a border for the card inside. Look look, so pretty!
Money envelope
I spent the most time working on the money envelope inside the card. I lined the inside of the envelope with washi tape and pink origami paper. I didn't get to be as OC as I wanted to be so you'll see the curved corners don't look that nice haha. But all in all I was pretty happy with how it all came together considering that I crammed the card.
Pretty lining
Making stuff for gifts feels so nice and fulfilling compared to just buying something and having it gift wrapped. Don't you agree?
