Western Oz Adventures: Hillarys Harbour

One Sunday morning Jex took me to Hillarys Harbour. It was sunny and windy and perfect for taking photos.
Colorful inflatable chameleon
The first thing I saw was this giant inflatable chameleon on our way from the bus stop to the harbour.
We walked around and enjoyed the cool wind and the warm sun. It's amazing how the area is so clean considering the number of boats docked.
Cute wishing well
The wishing well rotates when a $2 coin is inserted. The sculpture is modeled after three popular, real-life dolphins in The Aquarium of Western Australia named Rajah, Mila and Echo.
There is an area with a small piece of beach where people can have fun in the sand and water. There were kids running around and playing ball in the beach. Others were just taking advantage of the warmth of the sun in the middle of the cold winter.
After walking around and shooting a bunch of photos we sat down to eat lunch at Mad Mex. There are a bunch of different places to eat around the area. Now that I think about it we should have picked a fish and chips place instead just to go with the "theme" of the area. We were in a harbour so we should have had fish and chips. Yeah, but we had Mexican food, so that's that.
There are a lot of small stores in the area for those who want to shop. We took a look around but I didn't really find anything I wanted to buy and could afford.
Looking for treasure
We went into Chocolateria San Churro for some dessert. Churros and hot chocolate are awesome no matter what season it is.
I love the packaging for their stuff.
Churros for two
The churros were great! Crispy, not oily, and generously seasoned with cinnamon and sugar. We chose dark chocolate for our dipping chocolate and it was glorious! You can choose between dark, milk, and white chocolate to go along with your churros. Next time I want to try white chocolate.
We each got a cup of Spanish hot chocolate to wash down the churros. I had one flavored with chilli and cinnamon while Jex had one with mint. It was kind of a mistake. Their hot chocolates are so sinfully rich! So so good but just too much chocolatey richness in one afternoon.
I have been craving for churros ever since we had them at Hillarys Harbour. Must have churros before we leave!
