I've always loved making things since I was a kid. I like making things and being able to use them.
I had a couple of origami books when I was young and my favorite one to make was
this frog. I used to have this habit of using scratch paper and folding it into whatever I could think of at that time. When I was still commuting to the Fort before I'd fold the Fort bus ticket into an origami heart and leave it in the bus for someone else to find. Other stuff I got into was cross stitching, sewing, crocheting, making friendship bracelets, and jewelry making mostly using beads. When I got older my list of things to do grew and I set aside crafting. I also learned I could just buy stuff instead of making them myself.
Inspired by my friend
Eula I am trying to go back into crafting. It started with
washi tapes and I figured the next step should be to attend a workshop. I signed up for
Love Bound by Craft MNL a few weeks ago and it definitely renewed my love of crafts.

Beautiful mess |
We learned three different methods of book binding and got to meet new people. Despite the four hours allotted for the workshop time went by fast while we learned and worked on the different book binding methods.

Japanese stab binding |
While researching on Japanese stab binding earlier today I found this blog (
becca making faces) and discovered that you can actually form other patterns with the stitches you make for the binding. It's so awesome! Go check out the blog to see what I mean.
Since I was already on a crafting high I went and bought some stuff from Muji to build up my arsenal of crafting supplies.

Paper and scissors! |
Origami paper! The pack of plain colored paper is really cheap for PhP55.00 and contains 80 sheets of 150x150 mm pre-cut paper in assorted colors. The pack of patterned origami paper is more expensive at PhP195.00 with only 40 sheets. But considering that the sheets are patterned the price isn't bad. I also got a pair of teflon scissors. Perfect for cutting washi tapes!
After the workshop we met up with
Set and had dinner at Racks over at the Fort Strip after walking all around Bonifacio High Street.

If there's "extra hot" sauce then where's the just "hot" sauce? |

NOM! |
I finally got to give Set her washi tapes from our last order from Hey Kessy.
Afterwards we went over to Slice for some dessert. Well, I had dessert because I'm a bottomless pit.

We have photos together! We always forget to have our picture taken.

Eula, Set, and me! |
When I got home I redid the stitching on my Japanese stab bound notebook because I wanted to fix the knot.
The stitch ends at the same place where it starts. So, I left out a certain length of the string at the start instead of making a knot. When the stitch was finished and the other end of the string was in the same hole as the beginning string I just made a chain of
friendship bracelet basic knots.
I have no idea what I'll be making or doing with the stuff I learned from the workshop but I am excited with being back into crafting!
