One Fine Crafternoon

Second craft workshop, woot woot! Thanks to Eula's heads up I got to join the fabric rubber-cut crafternoon by Alessa last Sunday, March 17.

The workshop was held at Pino, Malingap St. and it was a full house. I got there a little before 2:30 pm found an empty seat in one of the tables. I got to meet new people and even exchanged contacts and blogs after the workshop (hey, Sarah, Ginnie, and April!). Unfortunately, I don't have a group photo with these new acquaintances because I didn't want to bother the person we asked to take a photo of us any further.
Alessa and Mansy
The workshop started off with a welcome from Alessa and self introductions from each participant. Mansy was also there and shared her own technique for rubber cutting. After Alessa and Mansy's discussion of their techniques we then went into our own little worlds and started on our own stamps.
My first stamp
My first design was a bit ambitious and had more detail than I should have put for someone rubber cutting for the first time. I made an outlined star with little stars around and it turned out pretty okay. For my next design I made something simpler: a beamed musical note. After making a second stamp I wasn't convinced and still wanted to make another one and made a pattern design.

All my stamps and mess
Everyone at our table was so engrossed with their stamps that when the snacks were served we kind of ignored them at first. Then we realized the table was too crowded and only then did we decide to eat. We were served nori cheese sticks and sisig mini tacos, both really good. No photo of the cheese sticks, though, because everyone attacked it first.

We were given canvas tote bags and scarves from Vigan to stamp on. We were so hesitant to ruin such nice pieces of fabric at first, but eventually once we started stamping it was difficult to stop haha.
Music and stars
I didn't think out my design for the tote bag and just started stamping randomly. For the scarf, though, I only stamped on one edge just in case it didn't turn out well and I can still snip it off the scarf.
Pattern on the scarf
It was a fun workshop and it's always nice meeting new people, especially other local bloggers. I can see myself making more rubber stamps a lot in the future. One thing more for my crafting skill set!
